On sounding smart in blog posts
Somehow, my perception of blogs and blog posts has shifted to something along the lines of ‘having something smart to say that will benefit anyone’. Because of this, I’ve written many things and scrapped them by the third sentence or so.
Perhaps it’s because I’ve read too many of those SEO blog posts. It could also be that a portion of tech (and other) issues I’ve faced have been solved by reading a post on someone’s personal blog, written by someone much, much more competent than I am.
It would be certainly nice to have something to offer that benefits someone else but there’s not really any obligation to do so.
This is not a wiki page, it is not a knowledge base, and it is not a documentation site either. If you don’t like it, that’s fine; it’s not like this is the only site on the Internet.
This is my site and I get to do whatever I want with it. I should not be hesitating to write anything just because it does not benefit the entirety of mankind.
…Though it would be ideal for me to avoid writing utter nonsense as to not end up sounding like an absolute moron.
